The objective of this study was to find out whether or not the English
summative test for the first semester at the eleventh grade students of SMK Islam
PB Soedirman 1 Jakarta in the 2015/2016 academic year had good content
validity. The test consisted of 50 items and all of the items were multiple choices.
The study applied a descriptive comparative analysis method by which the content
of the English summative test was compared to the content of English syllabus of
2013 Curriculum. The writer used checklist as the instruments for recording the
data of this study.
The writer found that the test contains 33.33% of reading objectives and
45.45% of listening objectives; 46.15% of the learning materials for reading skill
and 27.27% of the learning materials for listening skill;. Totally, the test consisted
of 38.05% of syllabus content. According to criterion of the test stated by
Arikunto, it means the content validity of English summative test was bad. In
sum, the English summative test for the eleventh grade students on the first
semester at SMK Islam PB Soedirman 1 Jakarta in the 2015/2016 academic year
did not have good content validity.
