The research was done to find whether or not the English summative test of SMAN 58 Jakarta Timur for the first semester in 2015/2016 academic year focusing on the face validity and linguistic aspect have a good quality.
The instrument is in the form checklist which is arranged based on experts mentioned about face validity and linguistics. There is no population involved. The writer took a set of the English summative test for the tenth grade students, there are 50 items of the tests be analyzed. The method used in this research was qualitative analysis.
The result of the analysis showed that there was inappropriate for the layout of the test, whole of the texts were not clear to read because the size of the font is too small and there were items needed to revise. It means the test that was analyzed in this research indicated that have not good quality of face validity and linguistic aspect because it was not in line with the checklist of face validity and linguistic aspects.
