The Analysis of Face Validity and Reliability of the MGM-Made English Summative Test For The Tenth Grade Students of SMKN 20 South Jakarta in the First Semester of the 2015/2016 Academic Year

Reliability of the MGM-Made English Summative Test For The Tenth Grade
Students of SMKN 20 South Jakarta in the First Semester of the 2015/2016
Academic Year.
The objective of the research is to get the empirical evidence of the
MGMP-made English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMKN 20
South Jakarta in the first semester of 2015/2016 academic year, whether or not it
has a good face validity and reliability.
The methods of this research are qualitative and quantitative. In qualitative
method of face validity analysis, the writer analyzes the appearance of the English
summative test. In quantitative method of reliability, the writer calculates the
correlation between odd score of English summative test and even score of
English summative test. The writer analyzed the data by using Pearson’s Product
Moment Formula.
In this research, there are two results of the analysis. The first is face
validity and the second is reliability. The result of face validity analysis shows
45% of the test fulfills the criteria of good face validity and 55% of the test does
not fulfill the criteria of good face validity. Based on the percentage, it can be
concluded that the test does not have good face validity. The result of reliability
analysis shows that the correlation coefficient by using Pearson’s Product
Moment Formula is ro = 0.66 and rt = 0.250. Since ro is bigger than rt, it means
that there is the significant correlation between odd score of English summative
test and even score of English summative test. It can be concluded that the
MGMP-made English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMKN 20
South Jakarta in the first semester of 2015/2016 academic year is reliable.
